Following the attack, from the Terre-Rouge Sub-Commissariat last week https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-41714-haiti-news-zapping.html several agents from the Departmental Order Maintenance Unit (UDMO - West 2) and the Temporary Anti-Gang Unit (UTAG), were deployed as reinforcements in the commune of Mirebalais, particularly in "Terre-Rouge" and "Fonds-Cheval", to track down and arrest all the bandits.

During the exchange of fire with the police, several bandits were mortally wounded, including Joseph Janès, leader of the Fonds-Cheval gang, alias "Avyon" and his brother who had been trying for several days to terrorize the civilian population. The police seized weapons, confiscated cars, and arrested Roudeline Rémy, the wife of "Avyon" and Rémy Widenise.

Several PNH armored vehicles occupy the "Terre-Rouge" road to facilitate the free movement of citizens and vehicles traveling through the capital and the Center Department.

"At the moment, the police are fighting bandits and throwing tear gas in their direction, despite armed individuals setting up numerous barricades on the road [...]"
