iciHaiti - Obituary : Passing of Agricultural Engineer Pierre Léger
The Government learned, with sadness, of the passing away in Paris on the morning of February 29, 2024, of engineer-agronomist Pierre Léger (77 years old), distinguished industrialist, exceptional man, who devoted his life to development.

"The achievements of Mr. Pierre Léger will remain a precious legacy for future generations.

In these moments of affliction, the Government shares the pain of the Léger family and all those who had the privilege of knowing him.

The government joins its voice to that of the Haitian people to send its most sincere condolences to the family and loved ones of the deceased, as well as to its collaborators at Frager S.A. and to the southern community in general.

Embassy of Haiti in Paris :
"The Embassy of Haiti in France learned with great sadness of the death in France of Haitian entrepreneur Pierre LÉGER, CEO of Frager S.A.

Mr. LÉGER had built a solid reputation in the field of essential oils and had raised his company to the rank of the world's leading producer and exporter of vetiver oil.

He was also a citizen very committed to the development of the Southern Peninsula, notably by being involved for nearly 25 years in the project of building a port in Saint-Louis du Sud.

The Embassy of Haiti in France presents its most sincere condolences to his family, his loved ones as well as to all those affected by his departure."

The Lorquet Foundation :
The Lorquet Foundation for a New Haiti (FOLONHA), learned with sadness of the death in Paris (France), of Mr. Pierre Léger, CEO of the FRAGER VETIVER S.A. Factory located in the city of Les Cayes (South), a family business specialized in the production and export of vetiver essential oil.

With his disappearance, the town of Les Cayes loses a philanthropist, a benefactor, a patron, a loyal servant, a person of integrity, a man of action and a being of great conviction.

In July 2020, the FRAGER Foundation, led by entrepreneur Pierre Léger, offered the solar electrification system to the Immaculée Conception Hospital in Les Cayes (HIC) which could power the hospital center 24 hours a day and make the maternity service functional, pediatrics, emergencies, urology and the operating room.

In this painful circumstance, the Lorquet Foundation for a New Haiti (FOLONHA), expresses its deep regrets and its words of sympathy to the Haitian business community, and presents its sincere condolences to the parents, relatives and friends of Mr. Pierre Léger grieving by this departure.
