The ten candidates competing for the blog/vlog competition launched by the European Union in Haiti were selected from among the 55 compliant participation files received for 35% of female applications.

In the final selection, 70% of women are present.

List of the 10 candidates selected for the competition :

• Shelcy DICE, Port-au-Prince

• Xaviera Raphaëlla ÉLIE, Port-au-Prince

• Djerky FORTUNE, Hinche

• Garenchana JEAN-PIERRE, Port-au-Prince

• Peterson Luxama, Port-au-Prince

• Elissa MINGOT, Petit-Goâve

• Stanley MAZILE, Grand Goâve

• Rachina VILSAINT, Port-au-Prince

• Dharwina VALMYR, Port-au-Prince

As soon as their selection is announced, these ten young Haitians will receive a digital tablet and attend a coaching webinar which will allow them to find answers to their questions about the next stage of the competition.

Between June 1st and 21, each of them will have to publish four posts, in the form of a blog or vlog.

The form and style are free, however, they must choose to publish taking into account one or more of the following 8 themes :

- Environment and sustainability

- Health and sanitation

- Community and volunteering

- New technologies

- Education, school life

- Culture and traditions,

- Local news

"I am shocked..." Each blogger begins the post with these words and continues with what shocked him positively or negatively in its context or the news...

The objective of this competition is to promote the ability of this generation to speak out about its environment and its concerns in its local context.

At the end of the competition the best BLOG and the best VLOG will be chosen by a jury of communication professionals. Each of the two winners will receive a bonus worth $800 in electronic equipment credit.
