The South-East Police, during two separate operations, proceeded to the arrest of 2 escapees from the National Penitentiary, on the run since March 2nd after the attack on the Port-au-Prince Penitentiary by heavily armed individuals who allowed the escape of 3,700 detainees…

These are Josué Sylvestre (31 years old), arrested by the police in Belle-Anse and Jean Simon Lione (46), arrested on June 5, 2024 in the 9th communal section of Bainet, who had been incarcerated at the National Penitentiary since 2010

The South-East Departmental Police Directorate is strengthening its security measures in order to put all prison escapees out of harm's way, following wanted notices issued by the police institution.
