Niola Lynn Sarah Devalis Octavius, the Minister of Youth and Sports, learned with dismay and great pain that the former goalkeeper of Don Bosco de Pétion-ville and ex-manager of Cosmopolites, Frantzy Francillon, was assassinated Sunday July 21, 2024 in the afternoon at the Carrefour Sports Center by armed bandits aboard on motorcycles.

This odious act deeply outrages the sports community, which vehemently condemns the repetition of acts of violence almost everywhere and particularly in certain sports venues.

After the acts of vandalism perpetrated last February at the Sylvio Cator Stadium, the assassination of Frantzy Francillon at the Carrefour Sports Center, the Minister considers it appropriate to recall that sports infrastructures remain places of great conviviality, spaces for healthy entertainment facilitating unity and social cohesion. They must under no circumstances be the scene of acts of banditry and violence.

The Minister presents her sincere condolences to the family of Frantzy Francillon, his loved ones and his former teammates.
