However, the Haitian government, aware of the security challenges facing the country, recommended postponing the visit until conditions are more favorable.

The security crisis in Haiti, marked by high levels of violence and disorder, is a source of concern both regionally and internationally. The Haitian authorities indicated that they could not guarantee the security necessary for a presidential visit, which led Petro to postpone his plan.

The Haitian government thanked the Colombian President for his concern and expressed the hope that, in the near future, when the situation improves, the visit can take place.
