iciHaiti - Urbanization of Port-au-Prince : Important meeting between the City Hall and CIAT
Ralph Youri Chevry, the Mayor of Port-au-Prince, his deputy Guerslyn Charles, and the Director of the City Hall’s Cabinet, Allwitch Joly, participated in a meeting on January 27 with Marie Christine Stephenson, the Executive Secretary of the Inter-Ministerial Committee for Territorial Planning (CIAT).

At the heart of the discussions was the Port-au-Prince metropolitan area delimitation project, carried out in collaboration with the Mayors of the municipalities concerned. This work, aimed at establishing solid foundations for effective and harmonious territorial management, will be formalized shortly.

The discussions also focused on crucial issues, including the development of working-class neighborhoods, the development of properties and the conservation of protected areas.

The importance of mobilizing local skills, such as architects and engineers, was highlighted in order to integrate innovative solutions adapted to the needs of the community.

Discussions also took place on the digitalization of the Port-au-Prince map and waste management in certain strategic areas, as part of initiatives aimed at modernizing urban management tools and improving the living conditions of residents.
