On Thursday, January 30, 2025, Kathia Verdier, the Minister of Haitians Living Abroad, held a working session with Jean Négot Bonheur Delva, Director General of the National Office of Migration (ONM).

Urgent measures to be taken in response to President Trump's recent announcements and the risks of deportation of our compatriots from the United States were discussed.

This meeting is part of the Ministry's desire to consolidate human resources and logistical support capacities for the structures providing care to our compatriots.

An action plan has been established, which includes in particular :

- A reinforced psychosocial support and reintegration system;

- Optimization of resources to better serve our vulnerable compatriots;

- Strengthened coordination with other public institutions;

- Sustained dialogue with international bodies.

The MHAVE is committed to working hand in hand with the ONM to achieve these objectives and is also intensifying its collaboration with the Ministry of Social Affairs (MAST), the International Organization for Migration (IOM) and the Economic and Social Assistance Fund (FAES) to facilitate effective socio-economic reintegration of our deported compatriots.
