iciHaiti - Dom. Rep. : Nearly 27,000 Haitians sent back to Haiti (February)
Following 255 day and night migration control operations in the country's various provinces during the month of February 2025, the General Directorate of Migration (DGM) returned to their country 26,659 Haitian nationals in an irregular migratory situation (12,101 expelled and 14,558 repatriated). The interceptions were carried out in Greater Santo Domingo, La Romana, San Pedro de Macoris, Hato Mayor, El Seibo, Azua, Santiago Rodriguez, Moca, Duarte Province, Loma de Cabrera, Dajabon, Valverde, Monte Cristi, Barahona, Peravia Province, La Altagracia, Montecristi, La Vega and Santiago de los Caballeros, and were carried out in coordination with the Ministry of Defense, the Dominican Army, the Public Ministry, Digesett, the "Ciudad Tranquila" task force and other government entities.

According to DGM statistics, 9,586 men and 2,515 women were deported last February. The DGM services affirm that "the procedures were carried out respecting their rights and dignity, without endangering their physical integrity or life." Of those deported, 8,386 left the Haina Detention Center; 1,931 from Dajabón and 1,784 from Santiago. The repatriates were : 4,847 in Dajabón; 4,311 in Elias Piña; 2,910 in Jimaní and 2,490 in Pedernales.

Bringing to 151,883 the number of Haitians returned to their country since October 2, 2024, when the Government implemented the expanded plan to intercept and contain the flow of foreigners in an irregular situation https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-43334-haiti-flashrepatriation-of-10-000-haitians-per-week-the-great-hunt-has-begun-in-the-dominican-rep.html

Thanks to these operations to strengthen security and order in the migratory flow, networks dedicated to the illicit trafficking of migrants have been dismantled and document forgers and victims of identity theft have been arrested.
