On Saturday, March 8, 2025, the General Directorate of Migration (DGM) reported that two men wanted in Haiti for criminal acts were arrested in Dominican territory and handed over to Haitian authorities.

The detainees were identified as Hercules Louis and Samuel Surin. "The handover of the detainees took place in perfect conditions, in compliance with the instructions issued by the competent authorities," an official report details.

The procedure was carried out by a military commission of the institution's Intelligence Directorate, headed by Lieutenant Colonel Alexander Cuevas, accompanied by several officers.

This operation reaffirms the DGM's commitment to respecting international regulations and cooperation between countries to ensure security in Dominican territory and in the region.
