iciHaiti - Insecurity : A second Kenyan killed in the fight for peace in Haiti
In a note, the Presidential Transitional Council (PTC) extends its "most sincere condolences to the Government and people of Kenya, as well as to the family of Private Bénédict Kabiru, who fell in combat on Monday, March 24, 2025, in Savien, while carrying out his mission." https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-44555-haiti-flash-3-armored-vehicles-set-on-fire-in-petite-riviere-de-l-artibonite.html

"This valiant police officer, engaged alongside Haitian forces in the fight against insecurity, gave his life for a better future for our country. His bravery and commitment will never be forgotten."

The CPT affirms that those responsible for this heinous crime, whether armed criminals or accomplices, must be held accountable for their actions before the courts. No impunity will be tolerated.

This is the second member of the Kenyan mission to lose his life on Haitian soil, following the death of Samuel Tompoi Kaetuai, a Kenyan officer killed during an operation in Segur-Savien on February 23, 2025. https://www.icihaiti.com/en/news-44424-icihaiti-security-monitoring-process-for-repatriating-the-body-of-the-kenyan-police-officer-killed-in-haiti.html

The French Embassy in Haiti, reacting to this new death, "extends its condolences to the family of the Kenyan police officer killed in Artibonite during a law enforcement operation in the Artibonite department on Tuesday, March 25, 2025. The Embassy offers its sincere condolences to the family of the officer as well as to his colleagues from the Multinational Mission engaged on the ground alongside the Haitian National Police (PNH) in the fight against against criminal gangs.

At this painful time, France renews its commitment to the Mission, the Haitian National Police (PNH), and the Haitian Armed Forces (FAd'H) for the restoration of peace and security in Haiti."
