The Ministry of Public Works announces the start of reconstruction work on the Rouyonne Bridge, located in the commune of Léogâne (West Department). This project, financed by the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) as part of the Departmental Transport and Connectivity Program and led by the Ministry's Executing Agency, aims to improve connectivity and road safety in the region.

The new Unibridge-type mixed bridge will have a span of 40.20 meters and a width of 9.60 meters. It will thus meet modern standards while blending harmoniously into its surroundings.

The bridge's construction includes the construction of two reinforced concrete abutments supported by piles. 50 cm CHS tubes will be installed to ensure increased stability and durability over time. In addition, support and bank protection measures will be implemented to prevent erosion and ensure the structure's long-term durability.

To facilitate access to the bridge, connecting roads will be built. The 7.00-meter-wide roadway will allow for smooth and safe traffic flow. In addition, 1.25-meter-wide sidewalks will be installed on each side, ensuring pedestrian safety and facilitating traffic flow.

This project is in line with the Ministry's commitment to quality infrastructure, essential to the development of this municipality and its surrounding areas.
