iciHaiti - Obituary : The Ministry of National Education in mourning 01/08/2025 10:05:20
"This tragic news has deeply affected all those who had the privilege of collaborating with this seasoned technician and recognized specialist in educational planning. During his 38 years of service, Mr. Lapommeray distinguished himself by his sincere commitment and level-headedness. He always defended his ideas with conviction and composure, avoiding the sheep-like attitude that often ran counter to the true interests of Haitian schools. A man of integrity and passion, Bayard Lapommeray always championed the cause of education. He cherished the dream of a Ministry capable of having sufficient budgetary resources to carry out all its programs, relying primarily on internal financial resources." For ten years at the helm of the Research and Programming Unit (UEP), he has consistently reminded all educational stakeholders of the importance of aligning their actions with the Ministry's guidelines, and for some time now, with the Ten-Year Education and Training Plan (PDEF 2020-2030), the guiding principle of national education policy. The Ministry extends its sincere condolences to his wife, children, relatives, friends, and colleagues.
