iciHaiti - Cap-Haitien : Mission of authorities to the International Airport to reinforce security

Engineer José Bernard Mathias Schettini, the new Director General of the National Airport Authority (AAN), led a high-level delegation to Cap-Haitien International Airport last week to assess the facilities and strengthen the airport's safety and security measures.

The delegation included Joseph Almathe Pierre-Louis, Minister of Public Works, Transportation, and Communications; Hantz Célestin (National Civil Aviation Office - OFNAC); Vladimir Paraison (Haitian National Police - PNH); and Gérald Ramplais (General Customs Administration - AGD).

This visit follows the recent inspection mission to the airport and is part of the follow-up to the recommendations made during that mission. Its objectives included assessing the condition of the infrastructure, reviewing the corrective measures implemented, and coordinating the actions of the institutions involved in the management and security of the airport, in accordance with international civil aviation standards.

For two days, authorities visited the various facilities at the airport, including operational areas, security and safety systems, and passenger facilities. The discussions also provided an opportunity to assess the progress of measures aimed at improving security and the organization of airport operations.
