Increased support for displaced persons in Kenscoff 26/03/2026 09:40:12
On Wednesday, March 25, 2026, as Easter week approached, Kesner Romilus, Director General of the Economic and Social Assistance Fund (FAES), accompanied by his team, conducted a supervisory visit to the Kenscoff community restaurant, which serves 1,000 meals daily to the town's residents. During this visit, 850 no-cook food kits were distributed to displaced persons, including 300 in Fort-Jacques and 550 in Kenscoff. This initiative is part of the government's efforts to strengthen social and humanitarian actions in support of the most vulnerable populations. The distribution, organized at the Kenscoff town hall, took place in the presence of Mayor Massillon Jean and members of the Municipal Civil Protection Committee. Kesner Romilus reaffirmed the Government's commitment to supporting displaced persons and efforts to provide them with dignified living conditions, while continuing actions to restore peace, an essential condition for their return to their communities of origin. For his part, the Mayor expressed his gratitude to the Prime Minister for the continued attention given to the residents of Kenscoff, who have been forced to flee their homes for more than 14 months due to armed violence.
