As part of National Health Week, organized under the patronage of Prime Minister Fils-Aimé and the direction of Dr. Sinal Bertrand, Minister of Public Health, the Nippes Health Directorate (DSNI) conducted a major sanitation and hygiene kit distribution day at Anse-à-Veau Prison on April 8.

Health teams, accompanied by departmental officers, cleaned and disinfected the premises and distributed hygiene and sanitation kits to inmates.

The activity was carried out under the direct involvement of the DSNI, headed by Dr. Esther Ceus Dumont, with the support of Jules Fleury Hospital, represented by its Medical Director, Dr. Junior Gramont.

This initiative is part of a broader program of activities taking place from April 7 to 12, 2026, across the country and in the Nippes department, including :

• Ministry screening clinics;

• Presentation of certificates to Community Health Workers (CHWs);

• Awareness-raising activities around the theme "Ann Bouje pou Sante n!" (Let's Move for Our Health!)

Through this action, health authorities reaffirm the Haitian government's commitment to guaranteeing health, dignity, and better living conditions for all, by intervening where the needs are most urgent.
