Project to implement the National Mandatory Internship System in Haiti 17/04/2026 09:36:02
Marc-Elie Nelson, the Minister of Social Affairs and Labor, met with several companies to discuss the implementation of the National Mandatory Internship Program for the Professional Integration of Young Graduates (DNSOIJED). During this meeting, Minister Nelson emphasized that this initiative is not limited to creating internship opportunities, but aims to guarantee a professional environment that meets labor standards. This initiative is part of the Ministry's efforts to find host companies to place young graduates in professional internships. According to Guy Orel André, the Director of Workforce, this meeting was an opportunity to stress the need for an active partnership, based on trust and mutual commitment, while encouraging companies to fully embrace the project. The DNSOIJED is intended to facilitate access to initial professional experience for young graduates. It plans to organize four cohorts per year, with one cohort every three months, thus allowing for the gradual and continuous integration of young people into the workforce. Beyond simply providing internships, the program aims to structure young people's employability, strengthen their practical skills, and facilitate their adaptation to professional requirements. Several companies from various sectors participated in this meeting, including : Hotel Montana, Access Haiti SA, Aciérie d’Haïti SA, Transversal, Groupe Bayard, Hotel Royal Oasis, and ACFIS of Canada.
