On Wednesday, April 29, 2026, an official dinner was held under the patronage of the Prime Minister in honor of two exceptional young women : Abigail Alexandre, champion of the Eloquentia competition in Europe, and Ariana Milagro Lafond, champion of the House of Challenge in Togo, West Africa.

The event brought together several Ministers : Ms. Stéphanie Smith (Tourism), Ms. Pedrica Saint-Jean (Women's Affairs), Ms. Kathia Verdier (Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries), and Ms. Raina Forbin (Foreign Affairs), in the presence of representatives of the diplomatic and consular corps, including Cheng-hao Hu, the Ambassador of Taiwan (Republic of China) to Haiti.

In her address, the Minister of Tourism emphasized that "tourism begins with the image we project," stressing the need to strengthen national pride through collective commitment. The rich cultural heritage, along with the intelligence and talent of Haitian youth, were presented as major assets for repositioning Haiti on the international tourism stage.

Furthermore, Minister Smith officially appointed Ms. Abigail Alexandre and Ms. Ariana Milagro Lafond as Ambassadors of Haitian Tourism. She congratulated them and encouraged them to continue their efforts to promote the country's image.
