Unanimous vote in the Senate for the lifting of immunity of the soldiers of the Minustah

The Senate unanimously approved the resolution of Senator Youri Latortue demanding the lifting of immunity of Pakistani soldiers alleged abuser of a young boy in Gonaives. The Senator Latortue indicated The Senator Latortue indicated that a copy of this resolution be sent to Ban Ki-moon, Secretary General of the United Nations and that the Senators would seek the support of the parliaments of other countries around the world... It will take at least that for the lifting of immunity of a UN soldier and even with this hypothetical support, it is unfortunately ery likely that this laudable and just approach, remains without effect. It is enough to remember the numerous unsuccessful attempts similar of immunity lifting of soldiers, for similar assaults in areas of conflict, from countries far more powerful that Haiti.

Daniel Supplice meet Mexican officials

In the presence of Clark Chevalier, the Adviser to the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Daniel Supplice, the Minister of Haitians Living Abroad, accompanied by his chief of staff, Serge Fernandez, held Wednesday evening, a working meeting with the Ambassador of Mexico in Haiti, Luis Manuel Lopez Moreno on the cooperation and future prospects between the two countries. Senior Mexican officials, including Alejandro Garza Ramos Martínez, Project Coordinator natural hazards and infrastructure, José Octavio Tripp, Director General of Technical and Scientific Cooperation and Lic. Fernando Escalante Peon, Director General of National Bank of Mexico (Banamex), Also took part in the discussions. The authorities of both countries exchanged views on the experience of Mexico on migration and identification of Mexicans living outside, as well as skills transfer.

Former Ambassador of Spain, decorated at the National Palace

Juan Fernández Trigo, former Spanish ambassador from 2007 to 2011 was awarded (Honor and Merit to the rank of Grand Croix) at a ceremony held yesterday at the National Palace. Mr Juan Fernandez Trigo, is one of the men who made many sacrifices for Haiti over the past 5 years. He got involved and committed for the benefit of the Haitian people, who always received his affection. The Presidency wishes to thank him for all the work he has done for Haiti. Especially his work in defense of democracy and his contribution to institutional strengthening in Haiti.
