Daniel Supplice on official visit to Canada

Daniel Supplice the Minister of Haitians Living Abroad (MHAVE) is on an official visit to Canada from June 11 to 18, 2012. During his stay, the Minister will meet with Canadian officials including Ms. Beverly Oda [meeting held yesterday Tuesday], the Minister of International Cooperation, the Mayor of Montreal, the Ambassador of Haiti in Ottawa, Leaders of the Haitian community, Haitian nationals of Gatineau and of the National Capital Region. Gérald Oriol Jr., signed an agreement in Ecuador

A delegation from the Bureau of the Secretary of State for the Integration of Persons with Disabilities is visiting Ecuador from June 10 to 14 to attend the first Continental Meeting for the Inclusion of Persons with Disabilities. Yesterday Monday, the Haitian government, represented by the Secretary of State Gerald Oriol Jr., signed an agreement with the Ecuadorian government, represented by the Vice-President Lenín Moreno, and the World Bank to share their experiences respectively in the field of disability and implement joint programs to improve the living conditions of disabled people in both countries.

Catch-up session for immunizations

The Ministry of Public Health and Population (MSPP) conducted from June 8 to 12, 2012 catch-up session to immunize [measles, rubella and polio] children under 9 years old, not yet affected by the ongoing campaign for about two months and also provide vitamin A and a deworming, [Albendazole]. This operation which targeted neighborhoods of the metropolitan area of Port-au-Prince like Portail Léogâne, Bel-Air, Carrefour Feuille was carried through 32 posts and mobilized 106 vaccinators. [2.2 million children are affected by this national vaccination campaign].
