ICTs the engine of development of Haiti

Monday evening, the Prime Minister, Laurent Lamothe, has intervened as part of a dinner-conference organized by the CONATEL. In his speech, the Head of Government recognized the importance of Information Technology and Communication (ICT) in the economy and finance at the global level, well as in the development of the country. They are, for him, a vital tool in the implementation of various government programs aiming the institutional modernization, boosting domestic production, the search for strong and sustainable economic growth, the job creation, education for all. ICTs will enable the country to have a special place among the emerging markets, in a world in full economic transformation.

A citizen shot dead near the residence of the Prime Minister

The Prime Minister, Laurent Lamothe, deplores the death of a citizen that occurred Wednesday, June 20 near his home in Turgeau in circumstances still unknown. The victim was shot by a police officer following an altercation. The Government Commissioner to the Court of First Instance of Port-au-Prince was seized of the matter and the police officer is currently in isolation. The Prime Minister presents its deepest sympathy to the parents and relatives of the victim.

Conference on Responsible Fatherhood

"The Harold Courlander-American corner" of the Monique Calixte Library of the FOKAL, ffers a conference on responsible parenthood. This conference will be held in the Annex of the Monique Calixte Library, this Friday, June 22, 2012 at 4:30pm and will be jointly presented by Marie-Laurence Jocelyn Lassègue and Sandra Dupuy. They will intervene respectively of the Act on Paternity and Filiation recently adopted by the Haitian Parliament and that of the "Child support" adopted in the United States in the early 20th century.
