Customs Facilities for Diaspora

The Ministry of Haitians Living Abroad (MHAVE), informs the members of the Haitian diaspora, eager to return to live permanently in Haiti, that they can benefit of customs facilities, through a certificate of transfer of residence issued by the mayor of the municipality or county, where they lived before their departure.

End of the criminal assizes of Port-au-Prince

The criminal assizes with and without assistance of a jury, who have begun July 16, 2012, in Port-au-Prince, ended Friday, August 10. 75 cases were heard. During these assizes 45 convictions were made, 4 acquittals, 18 case have been placed on hold and 9 hearings suspended including that of Director General of the Office of Insurance Against Third (OAVCT). The next assizes of Port-au-Prince are scheduled in December.

It was there 221 years

August 14, 2012 brings the 221st anniversary of the ceremony of Bois-Caïman. Dutty Boukman, commonly known as Boukman, presided at the time the ceremony of Bois-Caiman at the habitation Lenormand of Mézy, August 14, 1791. During this gathering, Cécile Fatima, slaughtered a pig and gave his blood to drink. This voodoo ceremony, preceded the general revolt of slaves in the North during the night of August 22, 1791, giving rise to struggles that lead to independence in 1804.

3rd edition of the great Festival of the Sea in Corail

The Committee for Tourism Development of Corail (CoDeTouCo) organized on the beach "Kaskad Beach", from 15 to 19 August 2012, the 3rd Edition of the Festival of the Sea and the river, aroun the theme "Corail, another city". According, Arbuste Victor oordinator of the event, of excursionsto touristic sites, to discover the tourism potential of Corail (Grand Anse, near Jérémie) and many festive activities expect the visitors : theater competition and of music troubadour, canoe races, fair books with the presence of a score of Haitian writers, conferences debates and other cultural activities. The CoDeTouCo, invites the public to come in large numbers in this great cultural event.
