The new Director General of the Electricity of Haiti (EDH) urges the public and private institutions and individual consumers to pay their debts to the EDH, which amounted to nearly two billion gourdes. The result, of this irresponsible behavior, on each dollar invested, the EDH enters in average only 30 cents of income. Andress Apollon wants to come with other billing systems including prepaid meters and meters at distance.
271 new graduates in Les Cayes
Friday 31, 271 new graduates have graduated from the public university of South in Les Cayes. "84 in administrative Sciences, 85 in Law and 102 in education. This brings to 1.711 the number of professionals trained to the UPSAC for 13 years," declared the Reverend Father Yves Voltaire, rector of the public university of South.
Launch of the project "Sinema Ekran Piblik"
The Minister of Culture Jean Mario Dupuy attended the last weekend to the start of the project "Sinema Ekran Piblik". This project consists to the screening of Haitian movies every weekend on different public places of the metropolitan area, from 7:30 am to 10:00 pm in the evening. During the past weekend, the following places have hosted the project "Sinema Ekran Piblik" : Place Boyer (Pétion-ville), Kiosque Occide Jeanty (Champ de Mars) Place Fontamara (Fontamara 43), Place Fierté (Cité Soleil), Place Jérémie (Carrefour Feuilles). Two other places will be added to the program : the Football Fieldof Thomassin 25 (Thomassin), and the Place Canapé-vert (Canapé-vert).
Reminder of the date of the new school year
The Ministry of National Education and Vocational Training, reminds to the public in general and all educational agents in particular that the reopening of classes was fixed for Monday 1 October 2012, according to the press release dated August 3, 2012 announcing the measure. Accordingly all those responsible for public schools and non-public must take all measures to comply with this date.
No medal for Gaysli Léon
Today on the occasion of the Paralympic Games in London, Gaysli Léon, 45, bib 195, who lost his entire family and the use of his legs January 12, 2010, participated in the cycling Men's Individual H 3 Time Trial Finals, the race was held at Brands Hatch racing a circuit of internationally renowned near Sevenoaks in Kent. For the race the athlete use a Handbike, a 3 Wheel vehicle manually propelled composed of a chassis/chair/wheels. It is completed with equipment for propulsion (plates, gears and cranks) and the brake (handle and brake levers). He participated alongside nine other athletes, BARLEY Nigel of Australia, LEDO Mark of Canada, GERLACH Thomas of Denmark, JEANNOT Joel of France, MERKLEIN Vico of Germany, JEFFRE Bernd of Germany, CRATASSA Mauro of Italia, SKRZYPINSKI Arkadiusz of Poland and WILK Rafal of Poland. To 8km he was 10th out of 10 with a time of 21:50.37, he crosses the finish line after 16 km of effort, with a time of 45:03.66, ranking 10th out of 10. Gold was awarded to WILK Rafal of Poland with a time of 25:24.17, silver to BARLEY Nigel of Australia with a time of 26:18.34, and bronze to JEFFRE Bernd of Germany with a time of 27:00.90. Gaysli Léon will participate September 7th to the final of Road Race on Handbike.
