Good news

According to the latest report of the National Coordination for Food Security (CNSA) the number of food insecure people fall from 6,700,000 to 3,000,000 in August 2013 while the number of people suffering from severe food insecurity from 1.5 million to 0.6 million. The results of the National Assessment of the Food Security, indicates that the highest food insecurity is found in the northern departments (47%), North West (43%), Northeast (36%), South East (35%) and metropolitan area (36%), while the national average is 30%.

Exhibition of pre-Columbian objects

This Friday took place, at Mupanah, the opening of the exhibition of pieces from the collections of archaeological objects of the National Bureau of Ethnology (SNE). These objects had been recovered by the Haitian National Pantheon Museum (MUPANAH) , as part of the Project of Rescue of archaeological, cultural and historical heritage, funded by the Support Program for Strengthening of Culture and Art for Economic and Social Development (ARCADE). This project was to out from the rubble of the Annex to the Ministry of Culture, destroyed by the earthquake of January 2010, the ethnographic and archaeological objets dating for most of the pre-Columbian era (fifteenth and sixteenth centuries).
