Garnel Michel Coordinator of the Haitian organization Technical and Operational Services to Stop Accidents (STOP-Accidents), informs us that from May 19 to 24, 13 road accidents on national territory (-64%) compared to the previous week https://www.icihaiti.com/en/news-30750-icihaiti-road-safety-27-accident-79-victims.html , made at least 20 victims (-67.0%) : 0 dead (the first time in 2 years ) and 20 injured (+ 5.6%) including several seriously.

Miragoâne, Petit-Goâve, Quartier Morin, Pétion-Ville, Delmas and Onavil among others, are the main communes and areas where these accidents have been recorded.

Remember that this weekly assessment was carried out in partnership with the National Ambulance Center (CAN) and the Haitian Red Cross. However, due to a lack of STOP-Accident resources, it is unable to monitor the state of health of the injured, some of whom die from their injuries and are not counted.

STOP-Accidents, reiterates its call for caution on our roads and urges the Government to reinforce preventive measures in the face of the rise in the cases of Covid19, particularly in terms of public transport and containment.
