Garnel Michel Coordinator of the Haitian Technical and Operational Services to Stop Accidents (STOP-Accidents) organization, informs us that from May 11 to 18, 37 road accidents on national territory (+ 37%) compared to the previous week https://www.icihaiti.com/en/news-30750-icihaiti-road-safety-27-accident-79-victims.html , made at least 91 victims (+ 15.1%): 16 dead (+ 200% ) and 75 injured (+ 5.6%) including several seriously.

Vivy Mitchell, Luly (RN1), Delmas 31, Camp-louise, Saint-Raphaël, Hinche, Miragoâne, Filipo (Pétion-ville), Route de frères among others, are the main communes and areas where these accidents have been recorded.

Remember that this weekly assessment was carried out in partnership with the National Ambulance Center (CAN) and the Haitian Red Cross. However, due to a lack of STOP-Accident resources, it is unable to monitor the state of health of the injured, some of whom die from their injuries and are not counted.

STOP-Accidents, reiterates its call for caution on our roads and urges the Government to reinforce preventive measures in the face of the rise in the cases of Covid19, particularly in terms of public transport and containment.
