INITE denounces...

In a statement, the INITE political platform denounced "the arbitrary arrest" of opposition activist Rony Timothée of the FORPAK https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-11172-haiti-justice-arrest-of-the-leader-of-fopark.html and asked the "Core Group" to stop "tolerating the actions of power 'Tèt Kal', which tries by all means to establish a dictatorship in this country."

Anti-Martelly and anti-American Demonstration

Sunday, between 1,000 and 2,000 protesters took to the streets of Port-au-Prince to denounce U.S. involvement in the internal affairs of the country and once again claim the resignation of the Head of State. Protesters set fire to a poster representing the American flag, chanting "Obama should not support this government." The protesters tried in vain to reach the National Palace, where they were blocked again by the police.

President Martelly in Havana

This Monday 19 May, the President Michel Martelly, left the country in the direction of Havana where he will meet with the highest Cuban authorities around the strengthening of ties of cooperation and friendship between Haiti and Cuba. The Head of State will return home tomorrow Tuesday.
