Small island nations want to make their voices heard during the Summit, including on mitigation efforts of climate change (renewable energy development), the adaptation to those change and the efforts that should provide the major powers towards the small states, which will be hit hard, while they contribute only marginally to emissions of greenhouse gases. The Minister of Environment, Jean-Marie Claude Germain will meet his counterpart, Segolene Royal, Minister for Ecology, Sustainable Development and Energy, at climate summit in Martinique.
