Saturday in the evening the Haitian Congress to Fortify Haiti held its 9th annual fundraising Gala Dinner at White Eagle Banquets in Niles, Illinois, on the theme "Haiti's current state of Affairs and the role of the Diaspora in the country's future". Ms. Edmonde Supplice Beauzile (FUSION) presidential candidate was the guest of the Congress as a speaker. The cultural part was provided by folk singer, Marjorie Cajuste, a native of the city of Saint-Marc.

In his speech for the occasion, Lesly Condé, the Consul General of Haiti in Chicago, declared "The Haitian Congress to Fortify Haiti has a mission to promote the full participation of our Diaspora in all aspects of Haitian life. We all know that this Diaspora, if it menage to be organized, can really contribute to the development of the country."

Moreover, the same evening, was held a fundraising buffet in favor of the NGO "Hope for Haitian American Youth and Elderly" (HOHAYE) founded in 2001 that works in Illinois, in the Departments of West and the South of Haiti in the field of education, preventive care, evangelization and motivation. This evening, specially designed for the American public, was held in Shilo Baptist Church in Waukegan, Chicago suburb. he guest artist Joel Lorquet, came especially from Haiti interpreted "How great thou Art", "He looked beyond my fault" and "Pity for Haiti" to the great satisfaction of the public.
