iciHaiti - Religion : Great Christian walk

As part of the launch of festivities planned in 2017 to commemorate the 200 years of the establishment of Methodism in Haiti, the Methodist Church of Haiti (EMH) invites the general public and Christians in particular to participate in a great Christian walk Sunday, July 19, 2015.

This event that will be an important time for unity Christians will leave at 9:00 am from Nouveau Collège Bird, #38 Rue de l'Enterrement, Port-au-Prince.

In this circumstance the Methodist Church of Haiti invites the general public and the Protestant Christian community in particular, to join it to celebrate this important date in the history of Protestantism Haitian.

A bit of history :

t's July 18, 1815, that Mr. Inginac, Secretary to the Government of President Alexandre Petion,signified to Raynalds, captain of merchant ship Hébé, the authorization of the Government of Haiti to the Methodist Mission to send missionaries to Haiti. The first two Methodist missionaries, pastors John Brown and James Catts, arrived in Haiti 7 February 1817 and founded the first Protestant Church in Haiti.
