iciHaiti - Sports : Nephtalie Jn Louis failed in powerlifting
Saturday, as part of the Toronto 2015 Parapan American Games, taking place from August 7 to 15, Nephtalie Jn Louis participated in the competition of Powerlifting, -50kg women. Unfortunately she failed her hree trial 65kg, 66kg and 69kg, ranking 5th out of 6, the gold medal was awarded to Brazilian Maria Rizonaide with 73kg, silver to the Colombian Nohemi Carabali with 67kg and bronze to the Mexican Rosaura Rodriguez Padilla with 65 kg.

Recall that Nephtalie Jn Louis, disabled, victim of polio when she was 8 months old, has already competed in javelin throw and shot put at London 2012 Paralympic Games (she was also the carrier of our two-tone during the opening ceremony) ; at Rio 2007 Parapan Am Games and at 2015 IPC Powerlifting Americas open championships.

Assuming the benchpress position — lying on bench with head and body (including buttocks) touching bench — athletes lower the bar to their chest. Once the bar is motionless, athletes must press upwards until their arms are straight and hold the bar still until the referee gives the signal. Athletes are given three tries for each lift.
