iciHaiti - Economy : Budget 2015-2016, the Ministry of agriculture too ambitious...
Last Saturday, the Ministry of Economy and Finance (MEF) organized a working session on the budget 2015-2016. Different ministries have taken part including the Ministry of Agriculture, Natural Resources and Rural Development (MARNDR), the Ministry of Environment (MDE), the Ministry of Public Health and Population (MSPP), the Ministry of Education and Vocational Training (MENFP) and the Ministry of Public Works, Transportation and Communications (MTPTC).
The proposal of Ministry of Agriculture for the next year is around 12 billion gourdes including 7 billion of Treasury. A budget that the country's finances can not support has pointed out the MEF, which recommends the MARNDR to propose two other scenarios with fewer ambitions and greater research of synergy with other ministries in order to share costs at the level of infrastructure in particular.
The new proposals will be submitted this week to allow the final arbitration in mid-September and have the budget of the Republic ready for 1st October 2015.
