iciHaiti - Health : Inauguration of a SONUC in Trou du Nord
Tuesday, Dr. Florence Duperval Guillaume, Minister of Public Health and Population accompanied by the First Lady of the Republic Ms. Sophia Martelly, proceeded to the inauguration of the new facilities of Comprehensive Obstetric and Neonatal Care Emergency Centre (SONUC) of the commune of Trou du Nord.
The construction of this new health infrastructure, financed by the French Development Agency (AFD) and equipped by the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), is a step towards the realization of efforts to enable the country to move towards an accelerated reduction in the rate of maternal and infant mortality.
