Haiti - Health : Training of members of the Haitian Network of Journalists in Health

The Ministry of Public Health with the support of the project « Leadership Management and Governance » (LMG) of the « Management Sciences for Health » (MSH) closed a training session for members of the Haitian Journalists Network of Journalists in Health (RHJS).



This program to which attended some twenty journalists from various media of Port-au-Prince had among other objectives to improve the quality of reports and articles written by journalists, allowing them to have a better understanding of the problems of health and make them meet with industry experts.



Thus, 31 articles and / or reports were made on topics such as Strengthening the health system, the Maternal and Child Health, HIV / AIDS; people with disabilities, tuberculosis, hygiene and sanitation. "Results are conclusive," said Karen Caldwell Director, LMG project. She announced that the US Agency for International Development (USAID), technical and financial partner of this program is committed to train, from January, a second cohort of  Journalists from the media  of both Port-au-Prince and the cities of the provinces.



The reporters Claude Bernard Sérant of Le Nouvelliste and Cindy Régis of Radio Caraïbes are the two first laureates of this training, they will benefit from a training course in Washington DC in the Voice of America.
