iciHaiti - Health : New outbreaks of cholera, 16 communes in Red Alert 26/12/2015 11:26:36
At the last meeting of the High Level Committee on the Elimination of Cholera in Haiti, Dr. Florence Duperval Guillaume, Minister of Health emphasized that "The strong reactivity of Rapid Intervention Teams Mobile (EMIRA) have among other enabled during the months most at risk of the rainy season in October and November to reduce the number of cases to the lowest level of these periods since the beginning of the cholera epidemic in Haiti." From 1 to 12 December 2015, new cholera outbreaks were identified. 16 communes of Artibonite, Southeast, North, Northwest and West are on red alert.
