José del Castillo Saviñón, the Dominican Minister of Industry and Trade has reported that a Commission composed of businessmen and Dominican officials was formed to travel to Haiti in order to find a definitive solution to the trade disputes between the two countries. The Minister Saviñón said that currently bilateral trade worked "fairly normal" and was optimistic about the possibility of a final agreement between the two Nations.

For his part, Ligia Bonetti, President of the Association of Industries of the Dominican Republic, revealed that in previous meetings with the Haitian businessmen and authorities, some progress has been observed in joint cooperation, to allow a greater flow of investment and customs duty in Haiti.
