The program supports the mobilization of tax revenues (PAMREF) and aims to help the Haitian government to increase its capacity to generate tax revenue through long-term technical assistance to the taxation and customs administrations.

The support provided enables the government to increase public investment, which contributes to meeting the needs of citizens and to reduce poverty. This support includes technical assistance and equipment to modernize the country's tax administration.

The project started in 2008 and has four components covering the entire country: training, strategic design, communication, and equipment.

Let's recall that on May 25 the Ambassador Caldwell St-Onge and Mr. Arun Thangaraj, the Sub -Minister Deputy and chief global Business Finance Canada, had met with the management team of the General Administration of Customs (GAC) of Haiti for an update on the technical assistance provided by the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) as part of this project.

Canada is proud to offer technical assistance to Haiti to modernize the country's tax administration.
