Daphnée Benoit Delsoin, the Minister of Health revealed in a partial assessment, that since the passage of the hurricane Mathieu, 356 cholera cases including 186 in the department of Grand-Anse and 170 in the South have been confirmed and more than twenty people died.

The Minister announced a series of measures to curb the rise of the cholera epidemic, including the establishment of a distribution system of drinking water in the most affected departments adding that the four departments most affected by Matthew (Nippes, South, Southeast, Grand'Anse) were supplied with materials and supply for cholera treatment.
