iciHaiti - Health : Distribution of «baby boxes» in the South-East

Tuesday in Marigot (Southeast) more than thirty new mothers who have given birth with the support of the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) in Haiti in areas where access to maternal health is very limited, in the presence of several representatives of the government and local authorities, received of "baby boxes" equipped with a water-resistant mattress used as a crib during the first 8 months of life, as well as other supplies for the mother and child during the first few months. This distribution was made possible thanks to "The Baby Box Co", "Johnson & Johnson" and UNFPA-Haiti.
"This first distribution of 'baby boxes' is a first step in a program I want to develop that will take into account not only distributions but also an educational aspect for mothers so that they can take care of their children," said Jennifer Clary, CEO of Baby Box Co who recalled that with its partners 2,500 "baby boxes" will be thus distributed.
