Sunday, in collaboration with the local authorities of Léogâne, the Ministry of the Environment launched through the National Agency of Protected Areas (ANAP) and the Directorate of Forests and the Departmental Directorate of the West, a reforestation activity in the municipality of Léogâne, especially in the 3rd section Grande Rivière.

The Surveillance Brigade of Protected Air, a unit of the ANAP, actively participates in the reforestation activity that has the support of the Deputy of Léogâne John Wilson Hypollite. During 3 days more than 2,500 citrus trees, 1,500 mango trees and 3,000 moringa will be planted.

According to the Deputy Hypollite, reforesting the commune of Léogâne is a necessity to reduce the damage caused by major natural hazards.
