According to an official document, the Dominican military authorities as part of their fight against smuggling for the first 6 months of this year, seized 150,000 pounds of garlic (± 68 tons) 1,023 pounds of marijuana, 1,756 liters of whiskey, 276 bags of coal and 421 of rice, 8 firearms, which tried to be introduced in Dominican Republic from Haiti.

In addition, 519 motorcycles, 34 trucks, 24 buses, 47 cars, 31 sport utility vehicles and 23 trucks, which were used for Haitian clandestine transfers and smuggling of goods were seized.

During these operations, some of the Haitian and Dominican nationals subject to justice are still in prison and others are subject to coercive measures.
