iciHaiti - Education : Launch of the 5th edition of the contest «Génie inter-scolaire»

On March 26th, at the Canne-à-Sucre Historical Park, the launch of the 5th Edition of the "Génie inter-scolaire" competition was held under the direction of the Community Police and the EduPol Specialized Unit of the National Police of Haiti (PNH), with support from UN and Haiti Women Haiti Viva Rio.
Remember that this competition invites young students to research and healthy things of the mind, while bringing the PNH closer to the communities.
The launch was an opportunity for Dede Ekoue, the UN Women Haiti Representative, to advocate for greater representation of women in PNH, in line with the organization's mandate, through the establishment of a mechanism gender responsive recruitment. Dede Ekoue reminded that women represent more than 50% of the Haitian population and that it is not normal that less than 10% of the police are women.
