iciHaiti - Boxing : Haitian-Canadian Jean Pascal once again World Light Heavyweight Champion
Saturday in Brooklyn (New York) Haitian-Canadian Jean Pascal (36) native of Port-au-Prince caused the surprise by beating the American Marcus Browne (33 years, 24 fights, 23 wins, 16 by KO) in the 8th round.

Prudent at first, Pascal hit hard from a straight in the fourth round, sending the American to the mat and then to the 7th round Pascal sending Browne back to the mat with another solid right hook. Judge Larry Hazard states on card that boxers are tied 65-65.

In the 8th round, round Pascal is aiming for the K.-O... However, the bout, scheduled for 12 rounds, finally ended early at 1:49 minutes in the 8th round, Browne is cut to the left eye after being reached by an accidental impulse of Pascal. A doctor ruled that Browne could not continue the fight.

Jean Pascal made his comeback by inflicting the very first defeat on Marcus Browne (southpaw) who was defending for the first time his world title won in January in Las Vegas. Note that, Pascal has never lost against a left-handed boxer throughout his career. This victory allows Jean Pascal to win his 34th fight (20 by K-O) on 42 fights.
