iciHaiti - Petit-Goâve : The Public Prosecutor's Office adopts two new provisions
Earlier this month, an important meeting was held at the Petit-Goâve prosecutor's office with more than 50 authorized representatives from the five courts of the jurisdiction of Vialet, Petit-Goâve, Grand Goave, Léogâne and Trouin with a view to to allow a better functioning of the Courts of Peace at the level of the Jurisdiction.

Me Franck Bénêche at the end of this meeting, the Substitute of the Commissioner of the Government, declared, at the microphone of Radio Préférence FM, that it was for the Public Prosecutor's Office to inform the founders of power "of complaints against them by litigants0" and to remind them of the prescribed law, their functions and their role in the judicial system.

The Petit-Goâve Public Prosecutor's Office has adopted two new provisions that will soon come into force :

  • From now on, any legal practitioner, will wear a badge or a professional identification card and he will have to prepare and submit his file to the Peace Tribunal.
  • The list of all authorized representatives will be posted not only on the doors of the five courts of jurisdiction of Petit-Goâve but also sent to the Public Prosecutor's Office.

These measures aim to curb some abuses. Training seminars will also be organized for sworn officers.
