Garnel Michel Coordinator of the Haitian organization Technical and Operational Services to Stop Accident (STOP-Accidents), informs us that from September 2 to 8, 19 traffic accidents (-9.5% compared to the previous week) have made at least 65 victims (-15.5%) : 6 dead (-14.4%), including one teacher and one student and 59 injured (-25%), several of them seriously.

Fort-Liberté, Maïs Gâté, Petite-Anse, Miragoâne, Léogâne, Avenue Léon Legros (Gonaïves), Arcahaie, Deglewo (Quartier-Morin), Passe-Rène and Delmas 71... are the main communes and areas where these accidents have have been registered.

Remember that this weekly report was made in partnership with the National Ambulance Center (CAN) and the Haitian Red Cross. However, due to a lack of resources, the STOP-Accident organization is unable to monitor the state of health of the wounded, some of whom die as a result of their injuries and are not counted.

STOP Accidents reiterates its call for caution on our roads, and continues to ask the competent authorities to take measures to reduce the risk of accidents on the public road.
