On the night of Saturday 7 to Sunday 8 December the Upper Cap River and the Belle hôtesse channels, Zetrier and Goya went into flood because of the heavy rains that fell over the commune of Cap-Haitien, causing significant floods in Cap-Haïtien and in many outlying areas of the city among others : Shada 1 and 2, Haut du Cap, Blue Hills, Bas Aviation, Fougerolle, La Fossette, Bas Vertières and Fort St Michel...

Hundreds of families have fled their homes flooded without any assistance from the municipality and the residents left to themselves have issued a warning to the central authorities, to come to their rescue.

It is reported that in Labory, on the dull Barrière Bouteille, a landslide damaged part of the police sub-station.
