Friday after foiling an escape attempt by the former Village de Dieu gang leader, Arnel Joseph, Thursday July 23, 2020, at Croix-des-Bouquets prison https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-31361-haiti-flash-failed-escape-attempt-by-arnel-joseph.html , Rameau Normil the Director General ai, of the National Police of Haiti (PNH) has already issued formal instructions in order to strengthen security inside the prison as well as at the external perimeter.

Specialized units of the PNH including SWAT agents have been deployed in the area as part of the arrangements to prevent any slippage that this situation could fuel.

Recall that sadly known for his involvement in criminal acts against members of the population, Arnel Joseph was arrested on July 22, 2019, at the Lumière de Bonne-Fin hospital, located not far from Cavaillon, a few kilometers away from the town of Les Cayes (South Dept.), after being actively and extensively sought by the police. He will soon have to answer for his actions in court.
