iciHaiti - Crisis : The OIF delegation received at the Senate 07/03/2021 10:16:39
As part of its mission in Haiti of a delegation from the International Organization of La Francophonie (OIF) https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-33173-haiti-crisis-the-oif-in-haiti-in-search-of-a-lasting-solution.html responsible for initiating in-depth consultations with all parties involved in the crisis, seeking to identify with all Haitian actors sustainable solutions to the multifaceted Haitian crisis, Senator Joseph Lambert President of the Upper House received the OIF delegation. Nyaruhirira Oesire, The Head of Delegation specified that the OIF wanted above all to inquire about the overall situation of Haiti in order to better understand the nature of the assistance to be provided in the perspective of a resolution of the crisis. Senator Lambert first recalled the watchdog role that the Senate intends to assume. While recognizing the need for a return to democratic and constitutional order through the regular renewal of political personnel after credible elections, he specified the irritating elements that fuel the crisis, among others : an unsworn Provisional Electoral Council, the referendum process initiated without your consultation of the Senate (reduced), article 134.2 of the Constitution, the generally insecure climate.
