iciHaiti - Diplomacy : «The two island nations are destined to strengthen their relations»

During a cultural evening organized this week by the Consulate General of Haiti in Santiago de los Caballeros, on the occasion of the 218th anniversary of the creation of the flag, José Valenzuela, the Dominican Consul in Ouanaminthe declared "[...] the two Nations of the island are destined to strengthen their diplomatic relations, despite the difficulties which arise [...]"

Consul Valenzuela recalled that the two peoples "are linked by a fraternal coexistence", because they share the same island and have a lot of things in common, affirming convinced "Above all dissenting voices, the two Nations are obliged to understand each other and to strengthen their relationships more and more."

For his part, Smith Augustín, the Ambassador of Haiti in the Dominican Republic, and the Consul General in Santiago, James Jacques underlined the importance of Dominican-Haitian relations and the cultural values ​​of Haiti, within the framework of public freedoms and human rights.
