Friday May 28, 2021, around 7.40 a.m., a Dominican Government Commission, headed by the Ministers of Defense, Lieutenant-General Carlos Luciano Díaz Morfa; of Health Daniel Rivera and of Industry and Commerce Víctor "Ito" Bisonó, arrived at the gate of the Dajabón border bridge...

By order of President Luis Abinader, this commission came to supervise the smooth running of the weekly binational market in the border area of Dajabón. Ensure compliance with health measures against the coronavirus so that the market operates without the risk of spreading the disease, given the sharp rise in Covid-19 cases in Haiti.

The Directors of the Specialized Corps for Land Border Security (CESFRONT) and Migration also participated in migratory control of the movement of Haitians who came to trade at the market.

For his part, the Minister of Health clarified that the health staff monitored respect for distancing, that he carried out random antigenic tests and that he took the temperature, recalling that Haitians remain in Dominican territory for several hours during trade.

Throughout the health operation, health officials distributed masks to those who did not have and monitored the washing and disinfection of hands and social distancing of the population.
